With a business and technology background spanning more than 20 years, Jason has experience working with every department in an organization to help them become more effective by implementing the systems, processes, training, and oversight they need. He has been successful doing this in small businesses with almost no budget as well as larger businesses with budgets in the millions of dollars.
Outside of Coppens Business Strategies, LLC, Jason is very involved in his community helping people in need. He is the board chair of a school focused on helping high school drop outs and at-risk youth. He also volunteers his time on committees and in local non-profits to help them in the execution of their mission.
Shannon Lovley, CVPM
Shannon has worked in Veterinary Medicine since 1991. She has been the Practice Manager of, the highly rated, Cats Limited Veterinary Hospital in West Hartford, CT since 2009 and received the designation of Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) in 2013. Shannon started her career, in “human medicine” at a doctor's office. As rewarding as that was her love of and passion for animals and the practice of caring for them won out. Shannon holds an Associates of Science with a concentration in Business Management (2001.) In early 2018 she joined Coppens Business Strategies.
Shannon continues to expresses her passion of Veterinary Medicine using her cumulative and trusted expertise to assist other veterinary practices with personal detailed attention to educate, streamline and grow their practice. She regularly consults in the areas of: good accounting practices, hiring and retaining great candidates, the use of Cornerstone and AviMark with ease, proper protocols, instituting OSHA policies, day-to-day accounting with Quickbooks.
Joan McCue, CVPM
Joan McCue, CVPM, joined CB Strategies in March 2021. Previously, she was the practice manager of a four-doctor, AAHA-accredited companion animal practice in Brookfield, Connecticut. As practice manager, Joan wore many hats and is well versed in all aspects of running a successful hospital. Joan is a problem solver. She expanded her industry knowledge base and expertise by earning her CVPM in 2021. Joan is a former board member of the Veterinary Management Council of CT, a member of the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association (VHMA), and spoke at the 2019 VHMA Management Exchange in Charleston, SC. Prior to finding her dream career in veterinary medicine, Joan worked as a freelance writer and marketing consultant. Joan holds a bachelor’s degree in communication arts, has attended AAHA’s Veterinary Management School and completed a course in Communications for the Veterinary Professional at Colorado State University.
Joan has two dogs, two cats, and competes in dressage horse shows as an adult amateur with her Clydesdale/Thoroughbred mare, Southern Belle. Since moving to South Carolina late in 2020, Joan has also discovered the sport of Pickle Ball. She and her husband have two children who have successfully flown the nest.
Stacy Callahan, CVT
Stacy has worked in veterinary medicine since 2005 as a technician and manager. She has been the New England practice consultant for the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) since 2013 and has had the opportunity to work with over 300 practices. She has consulted on all aspects of a veterinary practice including inventory management, blue print reviews, OSHA compliance, and staff training. While in private practice she spent 4 years as an inventory administrator for an emergency/specialty hospital. She is also the co-creator of the Veterinary Technicians of Cape Cod group, a local chapter of the Massachusetts Veterinary Technicians Association.
While not at work, Stacy volunteers for various local charities and the Special Olympics of Massachusetts. She also enjoys spending time at the beach with her family and friends.
